Skills

Design, Research and Strategy

User Research

I use user-centered methods such as interviews, surveys, and workshops to better understand targeted end users. Using the insights gathered, I create journey maps, personas, and user flows to communicate areas of opportunity to product teams.

UX Design

I use insights gathered in user research to concept, design and build lo-hi fidelity prototypes. I validate designs using user testing, always iterating based on the feedback.

Strategy

I collaborate with UX, business, and technical teams to develop short and long-term strategic efforts. I identify and understand areas of opportunity, and align efforts with organizational vision.

Philosophy

Quotes and such

“Accessible Design is Good Design”

“Science converts information into knowledge; Engineering converts knowledge into utility; Design converts utility into cultural behavior and context; and Art takes that context and questions our perception of the world”. – NERI OXMAN

Other important endeavors

I’m passionate about helping up and coming designers gain knowledge and experience. I’ve been a repeat guest speaker at DePaul University to talk about working in the User Experience field, and mentor designers with the ins-and-outs of the field.

When not thinking about how people interract with digital systems, you can find me in the local art studio, making ANOTHER bowl for my mom, running a 5k, or dancing the night away as an amateur salsa dancer.
